FIELD IDENTIFICATION: The Northern Bobwhite can be found year-round in Wise County. It has distinctive song (see above), but is hard to see except when flushed. The male bobwhite has a bold white throat and supercilium (eyebrow), which is pale buff on the female. Both have a patterned rufous-brown and gray body.
