COMMON NIGHTHAWK

CALL

FIELD IDENTIFICATION: The Common Nighthawk (sometimes called 'bullbat') is a summer resident of Wise County.  At dusk and dawn they can be seen flying in search of insects.  In flight the most conspicuous mark is a white bar on each wing.  Perched in the day, they sit parallel to their perch, instead of perdendicular like the majority of birds.
